Your home is so much greater than a layout or square footage; it holds all of the people, animals, memories, holidays and moments that you love. It becomes a very important part of your life. This year, I’m thankful for my home, the people and critters who live in it, and the love and memories that have and will be made here. I am also thankful to have the opportunity to help others find their home as well.

We celebrated Thanksgiving a bit early this year, and I had the pleasure of hosting, which I love! So, naturally, I was ready for what I like to call "The Big Show." Thanksgiving always feels like a big event--a performance of my organizational, hosting and culinary skills that puts all of my favorite pastimes to the test. This occasionally pushes me to bite off more than I can chew, yet somehow this year I managed to execute everything as planned.

I was less stressed and better prepared this year, more so than any other. (Which, by the way, was a feat in and of itself!) But I really tried to take time to think about hosting in years past, and the many memories my family and I have made in our home... like the time my turkey was done way too early, or that year someone fell asleep in his mashed potatoes. I also smiled at the thought of the time the kids put on a fashion show mid-dinner, or the year before that when record temps allowed us to keep the windows open all day on Thanksgiving! All of that happened here--in my home. My favorite place to be.

If you're looking for your favorite place to be, let me help. Because I know how much it means, and I sure am thankful for it each and every day.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
